Demos Finshed & Video of the "Octane" Guitar Solo - Fear Zero

Hey y’all, I have finished demoing the 22 tracks that are being considered for the new Fear Zero release “Whole Damn Nation.”  It is good to finally be done this part of the process as it is the most labour intensive of all in my opinion.  I have narrowed it down to about 10 or 11 songs that are going to be considered for the 5 slots that we have available for the new CD.

In case you had not figured out yet, we are actually taking 5 songs from our last CD “In Lights” and are repackaging it with 5 new songs and a guitar solo called Octane that, if  you have been reading the blogs, you are aware of already.

The reason behind this decision are plenty but to sum it up, we recently added a manager with some great contacts to our camp and now with his skills and knowledge, we believe those songs will have a better chance getting out to the general public.  They deserve to be heard I believe were his words.
Anyway, not much to say this week other than I am very much enjoying this new Vancouver weather called summer and I have included a little video clip of me playing Octane from a few weeks ago.

Have a great week!

Interesting picking method. Are you using your fingers to pick at 0:45?

Hey Scott, thanks for checking out the video.

I use hybrid picking a lot of the time when I am descending the neck and straight flatpicking for most ascending runs . I am influenced by a lot of country guitarists like Brent Mason and Vince Gill so that is where that influence comes from.
